Viva PHX 2017

Produced by Stateside Presents & Phoenix New Times
Presented by Downtown Phoenix Inc

Girl Talk * American Football * Mystikal

Viva PHX will once again fill Downtown Phoenix with live music on Saturday, March 11. The fourth annual music festival will feature over 70 national, regional and local acts, playing on 15 stages. This year’s lineup includes DJ and mashup master Girl Talk, recently reunited rock band American Football, indie pop band The Drums, emo rock band Joyce Manor, pyschobilly trio Reverend Horton Heat, rappers Mystikal, Warren G and Tone-Loc, and plenty more.

Participating venues include Comerica Theatre, Cityscape, the 2nd Ave Street Stage, Crescent Ballroom, Valley Bar, Monarch Theatre, Last Exit Live and Orpheum Theatre. The festival will continue its tradition of using non-traditional spaces to host shows, including the Masonic Temple and it’s basement “boiler room,” the Grace Chapel next to the burnt-out First Baptist Church, an alley turned into a punk rock haven, and the loading dock of Comerica Theatre.

Between bands, attendees can swing through the Monroe Mercado to snag a bite to eat from local food trucks, get a beer or cocktail from the bar, and watch hourly Lucha Libre wrestling bouts.

Doors open at 6pm and music runs until 2 a.m. General admission tickets include access to all official venues. A Fast Pass ticket adds priority entry to venues that have reached capacity.

This year’s event promises to once again bring a crowd of over 10,000 music lovers to explore their city, hopping from venue to venue to hear established acts and new up-and-comers. For one night, downtown Phoenix turns into a pedestrian-friendly musical mecca, and the energy is contagious and undeniable. Think of it as a bar crawl… but with really good music.
